What is IPL Photofacial?

Intense Pulsed Light, or IPL, can be used for the treatment of brown spots, such as sunspots, age spots, and freckles, as well as many other types of skin discoloration or pigmentation issues. An IPL Photofacial uses an intense, broad spectrum laser to hit the surface of the skin to eliminate damage and penetrate below the skin’s surface to stimulate collagen production.

Since collagen is a natural protein that gives skin elasticity and strength, new collagen will create a healthier look by adding volume to skin that is wrinkled and uneven, which can reduce acne, rosacea, large pores, and more. We have multiple laser treatment options available to meet a variety of our clients’ unique needs.

What is a BBL Photofacial?

Broadband light (BBL) stands as one of the most powerful light-based treatments on the market. BBL Hero, however, offers three times the power and twice the cooling effect of the standard BBL device. This allows us to provide treatments that are not only more impactful but are notably more comfortable.

Similar to IPL, BBL is used to treat skin conditions associated with aging, active lifestyles, and sun damage. This device has a broad range of light, and 4x the speed, 3x the power, and 2x the cooling of other IPL devices. It also has unique filters and adapters that that can be used to target multiple skin conditions in the same treatment!

Is IPL and BBL Photofacial Right for Me

When you come to Kingsway for your consultation, we will sit down with you and discuss your skin care needs and aesthetic goals in order to determine which of our treatments is right for you. If IPL Photofacial is not the most effective fit for you, our trusted dermatologists will recommend another one of our extensive dermatology service offerings and adapt your individualized treatment plan accordingly.

Does IPL and BBL Photofacial Hurt?

Most clients experience minimal discomfort during treatment, with many likening the sensation to a rubber band snap against the skin. However, this is typically a very mild feeling, and any side effects, like swelling or redness, will fade a few days after treatment. There is generally no downtime associated with IPL Photofacial.

How Much Does IPL and BBL Photofacial Cost?

The cost of IPL Photofacial varies by individual, depending on a number of different factors — for example, spot treatments versus larger areas. When you come to Kingsway for your consultation, we will be able to give you a better idea of the cost of your treatment, depending on what you hope to achieve from IPL Photofacial.
